Here Comes 2023!

I'm filled with gratitude as I write this last blog post of 2022. It's been a busy year for Better My Meds -- just look how long it's been since I've had time to publish a blog post (September!)..There've been joys and challenges in every part of my life, and I'm guessing in yours, too. Caring for loved ones, gatherings of friends and family, home maintenance, professional responsibilities, Sometimes the busy-ness felt overwhelming, but as I look back what I see clearly are all the blessings.
Better My Meds is a unique pharmacy practice. Maybe the only pharmacy you've ever heard of that doesn't fill prescriptions. Instead, the focus is on counseling -- helping people get better health outcomes from their medications. Because it's not a traditional pharmacy practice, getting started a decade ago was like rolling a rock uphill.. But even with the Covid slowdown, Better My Meds is growing (slowly, maybe, but still growing). And I have you, my readers and patients, to thank for that.
You've posted thoughtful comments and questions on blog articles, or sent them directly to me as emails. Many of you have made appointments for advice about your medications and health. You've referred friends or loved ones to Better My Meds when you've seen them struggling. You've attended events where I've spoken or held discussions, and challenged me with your questions and comments.
You've gained confidence in your ability to take charge of your own health and medications, and you've told me so. Your encouragement keeps me going, knowing that the knowledge and skill of pharmacists really does make a difference in health outcomes. I knew that from published studies, of course, when I founded Better My Meds. But I can see it for myself now, and that means so much more.
Though 2022 has been the best year yet for Better My Meds, I'll continue to work just as hard in 2023 to help it grow. You'll continue to see me in local Senior Centers and Senior Living communities, along with other venues. You'll see regular blog posts, though maybe not as often as in previous years. I'll also be spending a fair amount of energy encouraging new pharmacists to build practices that allow time for counseling, not just filling prescriptions. Everyone who takes medications should have access to a pharmacist who has time to listen.
Now, as Christmas approaches, I want to wish each of you a Happy Holiday. Whatever holiday you celebrate, may it be safe and full of joy. May it allow you time for some well-deserved relaxation. Good food is always a plus, too!
Thank you for allowing me to be of help in your quest for better health! As always, your comments are welcome in the space below, or you can contact me directly at BetterMyMeds. I always love hearing from you. And I look forward to seeing you in 2023!
Merry Christmas Betty
